A very nice Joy Division bootleg!

Yes, I did know Joy Division played at the Paradiso, Amsterdam once, but the thought of looking for the bootleg from that event never crossed my mind. But I found it, downloaded it, and listened it. It is certainly one hell of a bootleg. Amsterdam 1980.

(To my Dutch readers: Klik hier voor de Nederlandse versie)

 "Digital" live in Paradiso.

Joy Division has not been much in the Netherlands. And Ian died five months after this show. These are the last days of Joy Division: that same year we would hear Barney singing Ceremony in the fresh new band New Order. And that makes this bootleg super special.

"When routine bites hard..."

(Trivia) And this I never knew this little fact about the t-shirt that Ian was wearing that night. The afternoon before he went the gig he visited Zsa Zsa Linneman. Zsa Zsa was busy with the authorization at the Rietvelt Academy, and the shirt was part of the entrance examination. Ian asked if he could borrow the shirt for that night. If all of the other band members were so happy with this shirt I do not know, has at least this legendary photo results. (The shirt is now, 30 years later, reprinted and is here (click) for sale.)

"The Curtis and the Fury". Photo Lex van Rossen.

Enjoy. Okay. The sound quality is very good. The bootleg is available for download here (click it baby), this guy has already done FLAC > mp3 conversion for you. Make it complete with the great artworks of the Perfect site (click). Enjoy.
